Produce: When people talk about virgin oil, it is usually of the Olive Oil variety, however, people in the North East are talking proudly about their very own cold pressed oil, made from Rapeseed. A group of Northumberland Farmers have launched Oleifera, a premium cold-pressed culinary oil, which is not only home-produced, but higher in health-giving qualities than its Mediterranean competition. The oil has half the saturated fat of olive oil, contains ten times more omega 3 and is a natural source of Vitamin E.
