Acorn Dairy was the first organic dairy in the country processing milk from its own cows and delivering directly to the customer. Acorn is a family concern, run by Gordon and Linda Tweddle and the next generation, Graham and Caroline. Graham manages the many aspects of the processing side and Caroline joined the team last year to be in charge of retail and distribution. The name was chosen deliberately, to reflect all things natural and English and as a statement of faith in the future.

In 1997 the family decided to jump out of commodity production and step into a whole new world of organic farming, assisted by the Soil Association, convinced they could farm successfully without the use of the drugs, fertilisers and chemicals used by modern farming.

Customers love the flavour of Acorn Dairy's milk, and recent research has shown it to be naturally higher in antioxidants, vitamins and those wonderful Omega 3s.

Acorn Diary's butter is in big demand and they also sell other carefully chosen organic products including bread, various cheeses, yoghurt, fruit juices, eggs and oat-based breakfast cereals.
